A single cask Japanese single malt from Karuizawa, distilled in 1981 and bottled in April 2014 at 33 years old. It was matured in an ex-sherry cask and bottled at 54.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle, with 566 bottles produced.
The nose is woody, with polished oak, eucalyptus and other fine woods, a little smoke, tobacco, a faint chalkiness, dry sherry and walnut. On the palate come kumquats, oranges and mandarins with crushed cloves and ground pepper. The finish is long and fresh, never heavy with oak.
