Karuizawa – Blue Samurai 30 Year Old Cask 3656 (70cl, 60.8%)

Blue Samurai is a 30 year old Karuizawa, matured in sherry butt number 3656 and bottled in 2014 at 60.8% in a 70cl bottle. 260 bottles were released. It belongs to the Samurai series, ten casks bottled in 2014 and 2015, each with a different samurai on the label. Karuizawa opened in 1955 in Miyota, near Mount Asama, and worked with four small stills and Golden Promise barley imported from Scotland. The distillery was mothballed in 2001, and Number One Drinks bought the remaining stocks in 2011.
