Karuizawa – Geisha 29 Year Old Cask #8897 (70cl, 53.9%)

This is a single cask Karuizawa single malt from the Geisha series, aged for 29 years in a bourbon cask, number 8897. It was bottled in 2014 at a cask strength of 53.9% in a 70cl bottle, for the Whisky Show in London. The distillery stood near Mount Asama and began operating in 1956 under Daikoku Budoshu. It used Golden Promise barley and was known for maturing its spirit in sherry casks. It closed in the early 2000s and was demolished in 2016.
