This is a 36cl bottle of Karuizawa single malt, bottled at 37% ABV by Mercian, the former owners of the distillery. It is a limited edition made for the Hanshin Tigers baseball team.
The bottle marks the Tigers' win in Japan's Central League in 2003 and depicts shirt number 24, Shinjiro Hiyama. The club played its first season in 1936 and plays in the Nippon Professional Baseball Central League.
Karuizawa was established in 1955 in Miyota, on the southern slopes of Mount Asama, and was closed by Mercian in 2001.
