Kavalan Classic (70cl, 40%)

Kavalan Classic is a single malt from the King Car distillery in Yilan County, Taiwan. The whisky takes its name from the Kavalan people, who originally lived in this north-eastern corner of the island. The distillery began production in 2005, and the warm sub-tropical climate means the whisky matures more quickly. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Tropical fruit, floral notes, vanilla and mango mark the nose, with mango running through the palate alongside spicy barley, gentle oak and a creamy richness. The finish brings a touch of allspice, vanilla and pear skin.
