LÁN is a Taiwanese single malt from Kavalan, bottled at 43% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is a tribute to Yilan, where the distillery was founded, and its name echoes the Chinese character for orchid.
It is matured in bourbon barrels and port casks, and Kavalan's STR technique adds further depth, using Vinho wine casks that have been shaved, toasted and recharred.
The nose is floral, with orchid, rose, jasmine, peony and orange blossom alongside creamy vanilla, chocolate, caramel, honeydew melon and fruit gummies. The finish carries nut and cinnamon notes.
