Kavalan Distillery – Select (75cl, 43%)

Kavalan Distillery Select is a single malt from Kavalan, which has made whisky in Yilan County, Taiwan since 2005. It was launched in 2018 and is bottled at 43% ABV (86 proof) in a 750ml bottle. The whisky is matured in refill casks, which let the fruity character of the spirit come through alongside gentle vanilla and toffee. The distillery's warm, humid climate speeds maturation and adds creaminess. The nose offers ripe mango and pineapple, floral notes and warm vanilla. The palate is smooth and balanced, with butterscotch, toffee, vanilla, green apple and soft spice. The finish is long, smooth and creamy.
