Kavalan Solist Vinho Barrique is a single malt from Kavalan Distillery in Taiwan, matured in wine seasoned barrique casks, in a 70cl bottle.
It is bottled from a single cask at natural cask strength, so each release varies slightly. The red wine casks add a secondary influence of fruit richness.
The nose is ripe berries and dark cherries with red wine, oak, vanilla and subtle spice. The palate is full-bodied and powerful, with black fruit, cocoa, toasted oak, cinnamon and rich sweetness. The finish is long, intense and warming, with fruit, spice and oak tannin.
