Kavalan Ex-Bourbon Oak (75cl, 46%)

Kavalan Ex-Bourbon Oak is a Taiwanese single malt from the Kavalan Distillery in Yuanshan, Yilan County, owned by the King Car Group. It is a vatted version of the distillery's Solist Bourbon Cask single barrels, made from the same hand-selected first-fill American ex-bourbon barrels, blended together and reduced with Snowy Mountain spring water to 46% ABV. It comes in a 750ml bottle. The malted barley is imported from Scotland, and the spirit is distilled in lantern-shaped copper pot stills that were previously used at the Glenlivet Distillery. The nose is led by dessert and orchard fruit, with vanilla custard, coconut shavings, honeyed malt, pear, green apple, pineapple, soft citrus, fresh-cut grass and gentle oak spice.
