Kavalan – Lán Single Malt Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Lán is a Taiwanese single malt from Kavalan, created for the international market as a tribute to the distillery's home in Yilan County. It is bottled at 43% abv in a 70cl bottle. The whisky is matured in ex-bourbon and port casks, along with Kavalan's STR Vinho wine barriques, which are made from shaved, toasted and re-charred ex-wine casks. Its name means orchid in Mandarin Chinese, and a pink King Car Peach orchid appears on the label. The nose is orchid, rose and jasmine. On the palate come creamy vanilla, caramel sweetness and gentle spice, and the finish is smooth with hints of cinnamon and toasted nuts.
