Keeper's Heart Irish & American is a blend of Irish pot still, Irish grain and American rye whiskeys, bottled at 55% ABV (110 proof) in a 700ml bottle. It is made at O'Shaughnessy Distilling Company in Minneapolis under Master Distiller Brian Nation.
The blend is 57% Irish whiskey and 43% American rye. The Irish part combines triple-distilled pot still with a maize-and-malt grain whiskey, both aged over four years in refill bourbon barrels. The American part is a 95% rye whiskey, also matured over four years.
Tasting notes describe peppercorn spice, orchard fruit and a hint of tropical fruit on the nose, honeycomb, candied ginger and baking spices on the palate, and a long finish with charred oak and toasted barley.
