Keeper's Heart Irish + Bourbon is a 46% blended whiskey made by O'Shaughnessy Distillery in Minneapolis, in a 750ml bottle. It combines Irish pot still whiskey, Irish grain whiskey and American bourbon.
The two Irish components were aged over four years in refill American bourbon barrels, and the bourbon over four years in virgin American oak. The bourbon is made from 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley. Master distiller Brian Nation previously worked at Midleton Distillery.
The nose is caramel and vanilla with oatmeal, baked bread and pecan pie. The palate has vanilla malt, cocoa, cardamom and toffee. The finish is long, with sweet oak and mild spice.
