Kentucky Owl The Wiseman Bourbon (70cl, 45.4%)

Kentucky Owl The Wiseman is a blend of four Kentucky straight bourbons, in a 70cl bottle at 45.4% ABV. Two of the bourbons were made to the brand's own specification and two were selected from John Rhea. The components are 4, 5.5 and 8.5 years old, and the two four-year-old bourbons make up 70% of the blend between them. Kentucky Owl was founded in 1879 by the pharmacist Charles Mortimer Dedman. His descendant Dixon Dedman revived the name. The nose is sweet caramel with warming spice, a touch of citrus and a hint of oak. On the palate, caramel and light spice open out over a slightly silky texture. The finish is long, with spice and caramel lingering together.
