Kilchoman 2023 Fino Sherry is a limited release of 15,650 bottles worldwide, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured for at least five years in 20 Fino sherry butts, hand-picked from Bodega Jose y Miguel Martin, and is made from heavily peated malt.
The Fino casks bring dry, smoky oak and a ripe citrus character alongside the Islay peat smoke.
The nose is elegant, with dry peat smoke, fruit and sweet butterscotch. The palate shows honeycomb, toffee, candied fruit, fresh citrus and flaked almonds, with delicate peat smoke. The finish is long, with citrus, gentle smoke and hints of dark chocolate.
