This is a 12 year old single cask Kilchoman, bottled exclusively for ImpEx Beverages. It matured in a Bourbon barrel previously used by Buffalo Trace distillery in Kentucky, in the distillery's warehouses on Islay.
The barrel gave layers of vanilla and caramelised sugar, alongside the citrus sweetness and peat smoke of Kilchoman.
The nose is citrus, biscuit dough, honey and fresh vanilla. The palate brings light peat smoke, fresh herbs and tropical fruit with waves of citrus sweetness. The finish is long, with malt, lemon, fresh baking and wafts of smoke.
