Kilchoman 2009 Vintage is an Islay single malt distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2017, after more than eight years in cask. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill filtered and of natural colour.
The nose is rich, meaty and slightly sweet, with citrus sitting beneath heavy peat. With time the lemon zest and lemon juice emerge, alongside smoked sausage and raw smoked bacon. The palate is full-bodied and punchy, with the same meaty peat, plenty of fresh citrus, and pepper and ginger. The finish is medium to long, softening but still peaty, meaty and citrusy.
