This is an eight-year-old single cask Islay single malt from Kilchoman, matured in a bourbon cask and bottled at a cask strength of 57.9% ABV.
Kilchoman is a farm distillery on Rockside Farm in the north-west of Islay. It was founded in 2005 and sold its first whisky in 2009. About 20% of its malt comes from its own barley.
The palate is described as dominated by light smoke, round and sweet liquorice, a little bacon and grain, rounded off with pipe tobacco.
