Kilchoman – Batch Strength 2024 (70cl, 57%)

This is the 2024 Batch Strength release from Kilchoman, an Islay single malt in a 70cl bottle. A few drops of water were added after maturation to bring it to 57%. It was matured in a combination of re-charred red wine casks, oloroso sherry butts and bourbon barrels. It joins the distillery's natural peat smoke and citrus character with dark fruits, rich spices and salted caramel sweetness. The nose is of red fruits, fresh cherries, heather blossom and intense peat smoke. The palate has toffee, rich spices, vanilla and lasting peat smoke. The finish is silky, with fresh crumpets, butter and honey.
