Kilchoman Casado 2022 is a limited edition Islay single malt at 46% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The whisky was first matured in bourbon barrels, then given a second maturation in two 6,000-litre Portuguese red wine casks. Casado means 'married', a reference to the pairing of these casks. The peat level is approximately 50 ppm.
The nose is sweet peat smoke, ripe red fruit, vanilla and light spice. The palate has red fruit, caramel, roasted barley and warm smoke, with a full, creamy texture. The finish is medium to long, with sweet smoke, fruity tannins and red berries.
