Kilchoman – Cognac Cask Matured 2023 (70cl, 50%)

Kilchoman Cognac Cask Matured 2023 is an Islay single malt from Kilchoman Distillery, released in 2023 as a limited international edition. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 50% ABV, non-chill-filtered and natural in colour, with peat at around 50 ppm. The whisky is matured entirely in French cognac casks, which add a warm, fruity character alongside the peat smoke and maritime freshness of the distillery. The nose is soft peat smoke, ripe grapes, peach, vanilla, light spice, honey and subtle oak. On the palate there is round cognac sweetness, white grape, stone fruit, caramel, toasted oak, citrus and warm smoke. The finish is long and smooth, with fruit, smoke, spice and creamy vanilla.
