Kilchoman – Loch Gorm (2015) (70cl, 46%)

This is the 2015 edition of Loch Gorm, Kilchoman's annual sherry release from Islay. It was matured fully in Oloroso sherry butts and bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The peat level is approximately 50 ppm, so smoke and sherry sit side by side in a full-bodied Islay single malt. The nose brings dried plums, raisins, dark chocolate, peat smoke and light sweet spices. On the palate the sherry is intense, with dark chocolate, caramel, roasted nuts, warm smoke, and hints of clove and orange peel. The finish is long, warm and smoky, with cocoa, oak, dark fruits and lingering peat.
