Kilchoman – Loch Gorm (2022) (70cl, 46%)

Kilchoman Loch Gorm 2022 is the 2022 edition of the distillery's annual release, an Islay single malt matured entirely in Oloroso sherry butts. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle, with natural colour and without chill filtration. The peat level is approximately 50 ppm, and the sherry casks are paired with bold peat smoke for a dark, intense character. The nose has sweet smoke, raisins, figs, dark chocolate and roasted nuts. The palate is rich and full, with plums, caramel, cocoa, peat smoke, subtle spices and a hint of orange peel. The finish is long, warm and distinctly smoky, with dark chocolate, oak and spices.
