Loch Gorm is Kilchoman's sherry-matured release, named after the peaty loch near the distillery on the west coast of Islay. This 2022 edition is a single malt in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV, non-chill-filtered and natural in colour.
It was fully matured in Oloroso sherry butts from Bodega Jose y Miguel Martin, for a minimum of eight years. The edition draws on 22 casks, 20 fresh and 2 refill.
The nose has sweet pipe smoke, fresh strawberries and candied lemon peel, with neroli, toffee and cloves. The palate brings dark chocolate, toasted walnuts, tobacco smoke, caramel and dates. The finish is long, with cinnamon, liquorice wood, chocolate bitters and earthy smoke.
