Loch Gorm 2023 is an Islay single malt from Kilchoman, matured in Oloroso sherry casks from Bodega Jose Miguel Martin. The vatting draws on 22 casks: eight filled in 2013, six in 2014 and eight in 2015. The peat level is 50 ppm, and 18,000 bottles were filled.
The nose brings cocoa, a touch of leather, black cherries and gentle smoke. On the palate come roasted hazelnuts, dark chocolate and roasted dark fruits, which gradually give way to lightly ashy peat smoke. The finish is long and balanced, with a fresh Islay sea breeze.
