Kilchoman – Machir Bay

Machir Bay is a Kilchoman single malt from Islay. It is a vatting of malts matured in first-fill bourbon barrels, which are then finished together in Oloroso sherry casks. The nose combines cooked fruit with strong peat. The palate returns to fruit, with vanilla and an intense sweetness. The finish is long and in the manner of a classic Islay malt, showing what the additional sherry cask maturation adds.
