Kilchoman – Machir Bay (46%)

Machir Bay is a peated single malt from Kilchoman, a farm distillery on Rockside Farm in north-west Islay. The distillery grows its own barley near Machir Bay, and it is the only distillery on the island that grows and malts barley from Islay alone for its whiskies. Kilchoman was founded in 2005 and sold its first whisky in 2009. Machir Bay is matured mainly in old bourbon casks and is bottled at 46%. It is described as having coastal peat smoke alongside tropical fruit, fresh vanilla, butterscotch, herbs, stone fruit and a citrus sweetness.
