Kilchoman – Madeira Cask 2021 Limited Edition (70cl, 50%)

This is a Kilchoman single malt from Islay, matured in Madeira casks and released as a limited edition of 17,000 bottles worldwide. It is bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle. The spirit was distilled in May 2015 and spent 5 years and 3 months in 46 fresh Madeira hogsheads before bottling in August 2021. The nose offers caramel, orange zest and ripe plums with mixed spices and rich smoke. On the palate come bright citrus zest and peach with raisins, walnuts, dark chocolate and integrated smoke. The finish is juicy, with fortified wine, burnt sugar, dark fruits and lingering smoked Christmas cake.
