Kilchoman PX Cask Matured 2023 is an Islay single malt matured entirely in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. It is bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, and comes as a limited annual release.
The peat level is approximately 50 ppm, so the syrupy, fruity character of the PX casks sits alongside a firm base of smoke.
The nose offers raisins, figs, dates, soft peat smoke, dark chocolate and warm spices. The palate is full and creamy, with caramel, cocoa, toffee and light oak. The finish is long and warming, with PX sweetness, smoke, spice and dark chocolate.
