Kilchoman – Rockside 11 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

Kilchoman Rockside 11 Year Old is an Islay single malt in a 70cl bottle, described as the island's only single farm single malt. The barley was grown at Rockside Farm, then malted, peated to 20ppm, distilled, matured and bottled on site at Kilchoman Distillery. It spent 11 years in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks and is bottled at 46%, non-chill-filtered and with natural colour. The nose brings orange, lemon peel, elderflower and honey with light maritime smoke. On the palate come citrus, tropical fruit, barley sugar, toffee apple and salted caramel over a thin layer of peat. The finish is smooth and lingering, with butterscotch, walnuts, citrus and stone fruit.
