Kilchoman – Sanaig

Kilchoman Sanaig is an Islay single malt named after an inlet on the island's Atlantic coast. It is a vatting of sherry and bourbon casks, with a high proportion of Oloroso sherry. The Oloroso adds dried fruit and spice to Kilchoman's citrus sweetness and peat smoke. The nose has heather, raisins, pear, orange peel, stone fruit, mixed spices and rich peat smoke. The palate brings ripe plums, red cherries and citrus, then barbecue-style peat smoke, toffee, oak and dark chocolate. The finish is mouth-coating, with mixed fruit, caramel, cinnamon, clove, brown sugar, peat smoke and lasting sweetness.
