Kilchoman – Sanaig (46%)

Sanaig is a 6 year old Islay single malt from Kilchoman, named after a rocky inlet on the island's Atlantic coast not far from the distillery. It is a vatting of malts from first fill ex-bourbon casks and ex-Oloroso casks, with the Oloroso clearly in the majority. It is bottled at 46%, non-chill filtered and without added colouring. The nose is soft cooked fruit with caramel and vanilla. The palate brings toffee, peat smoke and citrus with a lingering sweetness, and the finish balances peat, fruit and sweetness.
