Kilchoman Sauternes Cask Matured 2018 is a limited-edition Islay single malt released in 2018, in a 70cl bottle at 50% ABV. It is matured entirely in ex-Sauternes casks, and the peat level is around 50 ppm. It is non-chill-filtered and natural in colour.
The French dessert wine casks bring a honeyed sweetness and rich fruit to the peated spirit.
The nose is honey, ripe apricot, peach and vanilla, with soft smoke and light spice. The palate is creamy and sweet, with yellow fruit, caramel, honey, peat smoke, citrus and a hint of burnt sugar. The finish is long and warm, with sweet wine, smoke and oak.
