Kilchoman – Small Batch (48.7%)

A small batch single malt from Kilchoman, the farm distillery on Rockside Farm in the north west of Islay. It brings together Kilchoman matured in bourbon and sherry casks, at 46%, with a cask strength STR (red wine cask) whisky, and is bottled at 48.7%. Kilchoman was founded in 2005 and sold its first whisky in 2009. It grows and malts barley from Islay, and 20% of the malt comes from its own barley. The notes are classic Kilchoman: citrus and peat smoke, with layers of red fruit, cinnamon, vanilla and sweetness.
