King of Kentucky Single Barrel is a Kentucky straight bourbon from the Brown-Forman Distillery in Shively, bottled from a single barrel at a cask strength of 65.3% ABV in a 75cl bottle. This is the 2020 release, from barrels chosen at 14 years old. The mashbill is 79% corn, 11% rye and 10% malted barley, and the bourbon is a deep mahogany colour.
The nose brings aged oak, cigar box, leather, honey and dark cherries. On the palate there is oak, rye spice, tobacco, chocolate, caramel and vanilla. The finish is long and drying, with oak, a sweet Dr Pepper note and light cinnamon.
