Kingsbarns – Balcomie

Kingsbarns Balcomie is a sherry-matured single malt from Kingsbarns Distillery in Fife, distilled from locally grown Fife barley. It was matured entirely in American oak casks that previously held Oloroso sherry, which is unusual, as sherry is normally stored in European oak. Rich, spicy sherry notes balance the sweeter, tropical character of the oak. The nose offers cinnamon buns with a drizzle of maple syrup and dried cherry. The palate brings pineapple cake, marmalade and more cinnamon, with a hint of cocoa. The finish is apricot jam and chocolate-coated nuts.
