Kingsbarns Doocot is a Lowland single malt from Kingsbarns Distillery in Fife, Scotland, bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill-filtered, in a 75cl bottle. It won a World Whisky Award in its class in 2019.
The barley is grown locally, and the distillery ferments with one British and one French yeast. Under the consultancy of Jim Swan, the spirit is matured in 90% Heaven Hill ex-bourbon casks and 10% STR red wine casks.
The nose brings ripe banana, pineapple, summer berries, lemon peel and honey. On the palate are pear, green apple, cookie dough, vanilla toffee and redcurrant. The finish is fairly short, with pear juice, ginger syrup and a hint of bitter chocolate.
