Kingsbarns – Coaltown (70cl, 46%)

Kingsbarns Coaltown is a single malt from Kingsbarns Distillery, which sits in a converted farm steading near St Andrews in Fife. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky is distilled in copper pot stills and aged in ex-bourbon casks. It is non-chill filtered and bottled without added colouring. The nose is fresh orchard fruit, vanilla custard and honeycomb, with toasted oak and malted barley. On the palate are toffee, caramelised sugar and baked apple, with gentle oak spice and a touch of citrus. The finish is medium to long, with vanilla, sweet malt and warming spice.
