Kingsbarns – New Make Spirit (20cl, 63.5%)

Kingsbarns New Make Spirit is the unaged distillate from the Kingsbarns distillery in Fife, bottled at 63.5% in a 20cl bottle. It has not spent any time in oak casks. It is made from Scottish barley, mostly grown in Fife, and distilled twice in copper pot stills. A slow fermentation is used to develop flavour in the wash before distillation. The nose is fresh cereal, sweet malt, green apple and light floral aromas with a biscuity edge. The palate is grain sweetness with a creamy texture, malted barley, pear drops and delicate spice. The finish is clean and warming, with lingering grain sweetness and a touch of white pepper.
