Kirin Fuji 50th Anniversary Single Grain Japanese Whisky (70cl, 52%)

This is a single grain Japanese whisky made to mark the 50th anniversary of the Fuji Gotemba distillery, bottled at 52% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It brings together grain whiskies from the 1970s through to the 2010s, including rare stocks distilled in the 1970s. Fuji Gotemba makes several styles of grain whisky using different distillation methods, drawing on American, Canadian and Scotch traditions. The nose is bright, with stone fruit, soft vanilla and a hint of tropical sweetness. The palate is silky, with ripe orchard fruit, subtle spice and buttery grain. The finish is light and fresh, with a lingering trace of oak and fruit.
