Kirin Fuji is a Japanese single malt made entirely from malt whiskies distilled at Fuji Gotemba and bottled at 46%. It combines a light, fruity malt style with a creamier style developed through changes to mashing and fermentation.
Maturation takes place mainly in American white oak bourbon barrels, with beer and French oak wine casks also contributing. Aromas include apple, pineapple, citrus peel, crème brûlée and floral tea. The velvety palate brings white peach, pear and apricot, followed by a dry, woody finish with chestnut sweetness, gentle bitterness and spice.
