Knappogue Castle – 21 Years Single Malt Irish Whiskey (70cl, 46%)

This is a 21 year old triple distilled Irish single malt from Knappogue Castle, matured in bourbon casks and bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is a marriage of two single malts. One was distilled in 1994 and matured for 23 years. The other was distilled in 1996 and matured for 21 years in ex-bourbon casks. The two were blended together afterwards. The nose is typically described as apple, pastry, clove, cinnamon and oak. The palate is soft, with a balance of malt and oak, and the finish is long and complex.
