This is a ten year old Japanese single grain whisky from Kujira Ryukyu, in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled from 100% Indica rice at Masahiro Distillery, founded in 1883, and matured for more than ten years in virgin white oak casks.
The nose is rich and buttery, with caramel and spice from the wood, much like bourbon. The palate is sweet and buttery with caramel, roasted wood and liquorice, then cloves and cinnamon. The finish is long and spiced, with some bitterness before the sweetness returns.
