Lagavulin – 16 Year Old

Lagavulin 16 Year Old is the flagship single malt of the Lagavulin Distillery on Islay, aged for a minimum of 16 years in oak casks. It is often called "the King of Islay" and was introduced in the 1980s as part of Diageo's Classic Malts Collection. Tasting notes describe powerful peat smoke balanced by dried fruit, vanilla, maritime salt and a distinctive dryness. The smoke is often compared to Lapsang Souchong tea, and the finish is long and warming.
