Lagavulin 16 Year Old is an Islay single malt that serves as the first bottle in the distillery's core range, which is an unusual position for a 16 year old whisky.
The nose is intense and complex, with peat smoke, iodine and seaweed over a deep, rich sweetness. On the palate dry peat smoke carries a gentle but strong sweetness, followed by salt and touches of wood.
