Lagavulin 8 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky first released to mark 200 years since John Johnston founded the distillery in 1816. It was inspired by Alfred Barnard's visit in the 1880s, when he tried an 'exceptionally fine' eight-year-old. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
Big and smoky, it has fragrant, tea-scented smoke and drying maritime aromas, which open up with a drop of water. The body is light at first, becoming pleasantly oily, with a full-on flavour that is bigger than expected.
