Lagavulin 8 Year Old is an Islay single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 48% ABV.
The nose brings honey-roasted nuts, salted popcorn, tarry ropes and a touch of burnt sugar. On the palate the Islay peat sits behind cumin powder, coriander seed, barley sugar and smoked kippers, with marzipan following. The finish is long, with char and ash and a refreshing note of minty dark chocolate.
