Lagavulin 8 Year Old is a smoky Islay single malt bottled at 48%. It was first released as a limited edition to mark the distillery's 200th anniversary in 2016, and stayed in the range afterwards. The distillery was founded in 1816 on Islay's south coast.
Peat smoke runs through it, with maritime notes. The nose brings black pepper, fresh lemon zest, bacon and intense bonfire smoke over a gentle malt sweetness. On the palate, smoke and peat meet honey, dark chocolate and a hint of sea salt. The finish is long, with pepper, ash and a light malty sweetness.
