Lagavulin 8 Years is an Islay single malt Scotch, aged for 8 years and bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It is known for the quiet power of peat and smoke that runs through the whisky.
In 1742 there were at least ten illicit stills at Lagavulin. John Johnston, a local farmer, founded the first legal distillery 74 years later, within sight of Dunyvaig Castle. Islay, home to eight working distilleries, is best known for its peaty, smoky whiskies.
