Langatun – Swiss Bernbon Whiskey (50cl, 44%)

Swiss Bernbon is Langatun's Swiss take on a corn whiskey, made in the canton of Bern from a mash of 70% corn and 30% malted barley. It is bottled at 44% in a 50cl bottle and assembled in batches, each numbered by hand. The largest share matures in Krogemann casks, which are revitalised and re-toasted former wine casks. Smaller parts come from red wine casks that held Merlot or Barolo, among others. The nose is soft and restrained, with corn, light roast notes and a little fruit. The palate is gently sweet, with roast and wood, fresh green grapes, caramel and vanilla. The finish is medium and soft, with bourbon-like corn, a hint of wine and some sultana.
