Langatun – Swiss Rye Whisky

Langatun Swiss Rye Whisky is a single batch rye from the Langatun distillery in Switzerland, made entirely from rye. Each batch is released separately and numbered by hand. The whisky is mainly matured in Krogemann casks, former wine barrels that have been revived and toasted, which add spicy and vanilla accents. A smaller share comes from red wine casks that previously held Merlot or Barolo, adding depth and a subtle fruitiness. Mahogany in colour, it has an intense, sweetish nose of grain and wine with grape pomace, peach and caramel. The palate is pleasant and spicy, with the rye to the fore. The finish is medium and dry.
